CAOS assists Practitioners with Mediation Business Development through a range of different means, some of which are listed below.
We offer networking meetings of CAOS-trained Mediators and Conflict Coaches to explore and develop new, effective approaches to 'spreading the word' about the work that we do.
Our next meeting is on Monday 21st January 2019 from 10am - 4.30pm in West London
Attendance fee: £60 or £48 for Support Scheme Subscribers
These meetings include:
These business development meetings are an opportunity for CAOS practitioners to come together, share ideas and network and learn from each other as well as develop new ideas for taking their business forward and, where mutually beneficial create a supportive network to assist each other.
As with all of our events our Mediation Business Development sessions are interactive and exploratory. There are no 'speakers' who simply present their 'formula' that may or may not work for others. Instead they are creative opportunities to work with other CAOS practitioners facing similar challenges and to learn from each other, both from our successes and our mistakes.
Practitioner Webpage
For CAOS Practitioners who continuously review and improve their practice through participation in support sessions and refresher days and other development opportunities, we offer the option of a webpage on the CAOS site to promote the practitioner's area of work both geographically and the process provided (Mediation, Conflict Coaching, Training, Facilitation). Here are a couple of examples:
Lucy Thom - CAOS-trained Mediator and Conflict Coach and Assistant Trainer
Jenny Owen - CAOS-trained Conflict Coach and experienced Mediator and Trainer
Trainer and Facilitator Development Program

"This was not an easy course; the challenges involved in working outside one’s usual mode of operation were considerable, but the upbeat attitude of the trainers and the calm and supportive atmosphere they created meant that I was free to work outside my comfort zone in developing an approach to assisting others deal with their own situations."
Dr Mary Richards - Subject Leader for Drama - Brunel University - also speaking about the Mediator training course.
"This was a very successful workshop, feedback described the day as “fun”, “interesting” and “informative” with a “superb” trainer who had a “very thoughtful approach”. 100% of our attendees said they had enjoyed the course and they would recommend it to colleagues."

Train to be a Mediator with CAOS Conflict Management
"Alan provided excellent training for mediators at Common Ground Mediation which was challenging but also thoroughly enjoyable.
He led us through various interactive exercises to help us reflect on the mediator's role and impartiality. I would highly recommend Alan as a trainer for mediators."
Morag Steven - Director of Common Ground Mediation, Edinburgh, Scotland.
